Colworth Science Park gears up development with new Exchange Manager

Bedfordshire’s newest state-of-the-art conferencing venue, The Exchange, now has its very own Manager as it gears up for its launch in Spring 2011.
The Exchange, at Colworth Science Park is Bedfordshire’s new enterprise hub. It is due to open early next year and is already open for bookings. The new facility will comprise a 56,000 sq ft modern centre for meetings & conferencing including an Innovation Centre offering 35,000 sq ft of fully serviced laboratory and office suites. A modern cafe-restaurant, Café Connect will provide a sumptuous variety of healthy food and refreshments.
Gary brings with him a wealth of experience in the hospitality and leisure industries, in addition to a prestigious position managing the conference, catering and hospitality services at The Royal Society in Central London.
Gary’s role will involve the coordination of The Exchange’s meeting and conference spaces, which are available to hire by a range of companies based both onsite and from further afield and can cater for up to 200 people. The Exchange will draw large corporate, SMEs and academia together in an environment that supports open innovation.

Made possible by the investment of £13.7m from the Goodman:Unilever joint venture and the East of England Development Agency (EEDA), The Exchange will support economic growth in Bedfordshire and the UK by bringing together academia, SMEs and other life science companies to drive the transfer of technology.
The building will create an exciting new heart for the park, boasting state of the art facilities which can be enjoyed by both enterprises on site, in addition to businesses and organisations across the region. Gary will play a crucial role in liaising with our existing customers while engaging with the wider community.”
